Former Vikings CB, Jeff Gladney Killed In Car Wreck At 25
Arizona Cardinals representative confirmed the death.
“We are asking prayers for family and privacy at this most difficult time,” his agent, Brian Overstreet, said in a statement to the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram.
The crash happened in the early hours of Monday morning, and a 26-year-old female passenger in the car is also presumed dead. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said a vehicle was speeding on the Woodall Rodgers Freeway when it struck a vehicle in front and lost control before hitting a flash of light around 2:30 a.m. Monday. The people in the other car were unharmed.
“We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Jeff Gladney,” the cardinal said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who are mourning this great loss.”
Gladney was a star at TCU before being picked by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. He played in every game during his rookie season.

“Our TCU athletics family, and our football program in particular, were devastated to learn of the passing of Jeff Gladney,” said TCU athletic director Jeremiah Donati. “After earning his degree and continuing his playing career in the NFL, Jeff maintains his close relationship with TCU. He loves everything about his alma mater. He is a regular visitor to campus and has been at our spring practice sessions and spring games this year, so proud to join his young son”
Gladney is the second youngest NFL player to die in a traffic accident this year. In April, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was hit and killed by a truck after his car ran out of gas and he left the car on the highway.
